Wool Applique Heart

Heart_1 Heart2

I really loved  this project!  Using strips of wool, cut to have fringe, the "fringe" is wrapped around the shape, in this case, a heart, while using fabric glue so that it will stick.  For the small heart in the center, I used a blanket stitch for the outside, and then a fly stitch to border the inner small heart.

Stitchy Mail!

I wanted to share some goodies I received in the mail today.  I can't wait to sit with a cup of tea and my Inspirations magazine.  I would suggest this magazine to anyone who loves to stitch!  I also have signed up for a "pin" club that arrives even month.  I've also signed up for a quilt block of the month that I hope that I can keep up with that is with Sarah Fielke.  It is just stunning, and I couldn't resist.  I also signed up last year, and found it hard to keep up, but I am committed this year to try to finish both!  We'll see what happens!

National Embroidery Month

February is National Embroidery Month!  I am excited for this because it is a chance for me to challenge myself with something I've been wanting to try: a stitching journal.  I found out about these on Pinterest, and just absolutely fell in love with them.  It will be a great opportunity to learn new stitches, get creative with colors, and create something really beautiful.  Pinterest has some really lovely ideas I've started pinning, and I'm hoping to share more of this project this coming month, and at other times during the year.
