Fashion School Diaries

I'm so happy that I can write this post. I wanted to journal and share about this dream come true, as a way to chronicle my experience. I have been very interested in signing up for classes at the Boston School of Fashion Design for several years. I even so much went to several open houses, but was so hesitant to sign up for a class. I'm not sure why. Sometimes I think fear places a big role in preventing us from doing things that are truly our heart's desire. I know that was true for me in this situation.
I've always had a passion for sewing since I was a little girl. I use to try to 'sew' doll clothes. Fashion plates and Barbies were among my favorite toys. I loved creating different outfits and styles. During high school I day-dreamed about pursuing a career related to sewing, or embroidery or quilting, but it just didn't seem like the 'expected' thing to do, and I limited myself saying that I had never taken an art class and wasn't a good 'drawer'.
I signed up for my first class in the summer. I'll be blogging about my reflections and memories in the coming weeks of the two classes I have taken. Thank you as always, for reading!
