Easter Sampler

Wool Bunny

Rabbit_wallhanging
Here is another project I forgot to post about.  I'm not sure how I forget about this one.  I had three different Easter pieces that I had framed.  I can't even remember if it was last year or the year before!  Time flies by so fast. I enjoyed going to the frame shop and framing all of these pieces at the same time.  I just wish that it wasn't so expensive.  To decrease the cost on this one, I actually didn't have glass put on this piece.  I do like to have glass on my stitching to protect it, but I didn't want this to seem to big and bulky.  It is only hung up for about a month, so I think that it is okay that there isn't glass covering it.  This was a panel that was pre-printed.  I had some really beautiful green ticking, and I used a feather stitch to attach the printed bunny to the fabric.  I cut out a bunny and adhered it using a blanket stitch.  All of the wool thread, wool and fabric are things that I had in my stash that I put together to make this project. I embroidered a flowered collar for the bunny, and also used a little black button for the eye.  I really like how this came out, and I think that the wooden brown frame really sets it off.  I like how you can subtly see the fabric in the background.  The framing came out so perfect, and I'm happy that the stripes of the ticking fabric were done so straight.
